MUSIC LESSONS

Individual ˝ hour lessons:
Electric Guitar | Acoustic Guitar | Bass Guitar | Keyboard |Drums

˝ hour lessons one on one with an Axe instructor.

Lessons are offered:
Monday - Thursday 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Friday from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm
Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm
Sunday from 12:00 am to 4:30 pm.

We offer lessons for beginner to advanced students.

We realize that people take lessons for different reasons and will endeavor to find the long term goals of the student and find a way to reach them in a manner that is acceptable to the student. We want our students to take as much control of the content of their lessons as they feel comfortable with and our teachers are not stuck in any pre-written curriculum.

Theory and practical application as well as songwriting, improvisation, gear and set-up for live playing can be discussed. Feel free to talk to your teacher about anything music related — we have tremendous resources available in our store and there is no reason that a guitar lesson, or any other for that matter, cannot delve into other areas.

Lesson fees are $17.00 per 1/2 HOUR LESSON [No GST]
Typically a student will have one (1/2 hour) lesson per week.

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
FOR EDMONTON 2012 FUTURE WARRIORS

A music education program that brings young musicians (12 - 18) with "some" experience together - forming a band that will play a "professional" gig that Axe sets up. You'll learn the basics of working with other musicians, soundmen, instrument tuning, keeping time, and stage volume.

EDMONTON PROGRAM DETAILS

This weekly program consists of 6 - 2 HOUR rehearsals and ends with a public performance at a local venue - for a total of 7 sessions.

The Cost for the program is $299.00

You will meet players with similar interests, be provided with the latest gear, a practice room, and a Coach to offer ideas and assistance. The program culminates with a killer live performance for family, friends and colleagues at a local venue.

ROCK CAMP  


This course is available in Edmonton and Calgary

SUMMER IS COMING!!!

A ONE WEEK IMMERSION IN THE BUSINESS OF WRITING, RECORDING, ENGINEERING, PRODUCING AND PERFORMING OF ORIGINAL MUSIC

This camp will run for five consecutive days, with a one hour lunch supplied by Axe Music. At the end of the camp the applicants will have written and produced one song. They will have an understanding of the various government programs to help them finance their projects and the process of protecting their music. They will also have an understanding of the recording process and some live sound reinforcement basics, and will have performed their song live for an audience.

The camp will work for individuals as well as established bands. It’s a great way to meet musicians who share the same goals while learning the business of music. Axe Music has access to all the resources needed to make this camp productive, fun and relevant to musicians of today. You will receive the best quality instruction on all the latest gear and leave with a great sounding live demo that reflects your efforts.

RECORDING TECHNOLOGY (6-WEEK COURSE)

 

 

 

This course is currently only available at Axe Music Calgary

With today's computers becoming more and more cost effective, the idea of a complete studio in one box is now a reality. Tape based recording is becoming obsolete and, if you are sick and tired of waiting for your master to rewind or cue, you're going to love the random and instant access of hard disc recording.

This course will cover everything from installation of the software, configuring the computer and getting audio and midi in and out of the machine to advanced topics like the v.s.t. mixer, using plug-ins and all the other features of this very powerful program.

You'll get lots of “hands on” time as we are keeping our class sized to 4-6 people and the Axe instructor is very patient and personable.


The course consists of 6 weeks of 2 hr. sessions.

Course cost is $299.00 [no gst]
