Last night I had the honor of working with "Kids
With Cancer" on behalf of Axe Music, making a "Dream
Experience" come true for 7 amazing kids! I can't
express what an uplifting experience this was for
me, let alone for these incredible kids, who rarely
even get a chance to see life outside of a hospital.

The kids were treated like "Rock Stars" and were
escorted to the Shaw Conference Center by Limo for
their grand arrival at the Nelly Furtado concert
soundcheck. Not only did they have a chance to hang
out with Nelly, ask her questions and get
autographs, but were also brought on stage by Nelly
and her awesome crew to dance, sing, and hit the
drums! This was emotional for me to say the least!

After soundcheck they were again taken by limo to
the Marriot Courtyard for dinner, and were greeted
by all the staff and escorted in via red carpet and
velvet rope! (There was even faux paparazzi
snapping pics!) They then feasted on a cornucopia
of awesome food in a private section with their own
security. (And yes all the brown M&M's were removed
prior to dessert!)
After dinner we returned to the Shaw where a VIP
section was awaiting them right in front of the
stage. The concert was fantastic and unlike
anything these kids have seen before. Just prior to
her encore...Nelly made a special point of thanking
all the kids for coming and "making HER day", and I
know exactly how she feels!

Part two of this "Dream Experience" will take place
at Axe Music and we will be doing all kinds of fun
stuff like recording a song, playing the guitars and
drums, and we will be handing out free tour
jackets. They are very excited for this and I am
hoping that everyone will pitch in and do what they
can to make this a cool day for them. Date to be
announced.
For me...it was a day I'll never forget!
